Evaluation Question 4

Evaluation-Question 3

Overall, from my audience feedback I learned about what was perhaps needed to make an effective Post-apocalyptic trailer and what we needed to include in our trailer to make it effective and appealing to our target audience and make it an effective promotional tool. From my focus group results I learned improvements and enhancements that could improve my trailer as well as my poster. This helped me improve my package to make my promotional package that best I could make it. Audience feedback played a pivtol role in the creation of my promotional package as it helped me make it the best promotional tool it could be.

Developing Soundtrack-Final for Defiance Trailer

The soundtrack was difficult to produce as it was difficult finding available times for the Music Suite. Once I approached my teacher with this difficulty I was introduced to some pre-existing free of copyright sound clips which could potentially be used to create the soundtrack for defiance. I listened to some of these clips to see where they could potentially fit into our trailer to see if they could enhance the soundtrack. This development of the soundtrack cam immediately after our focus group where we were told the could be more of a "dramatic flare." So after listening to these sound clips I decided to cut them down, so that I could get different elements of each clip to match different clips. I spent time carefully editing these clips so that they could compliment the shots we produced in our trailer. My teacher introduced me to 'fade outs' and 'fade in's' as well as 'audio gain' which helped to improve the dialogue from the characters within the trailer so that it could be heard over the soundtrack and clear to the audience. Being able to edit the clips ensured that I was able to develop a sound which complimented the clip and created a more lasting image within the audiences mind, so that they would take more away from the trailer. I looked at existing trailers for ideas, the Maze Runner played a big role in creative decisions for our soundtrack. One shot in particular where we mimicked the Maze Runner was our first scene where our character is waking up, the Maze Runner also has a scene at the beginning where the main character, Thomas,m is waking up. I felt that the music at this point worked effectively with the shot and I looked to see if I could create a similar effect. I also mimicked the heavy bass background from the Maze Runner which adds tension and distortion to our trailer. Overall I feel that the soundtrack works well to compliment our trailer and helps add more atmosphere and chaos to each scene.

Creating our Production Company Logo

We wanted to add a conventional company logo to the beginning of our trailer so that we could get a more professional feel from the beginning of our trailer. I was in charge of designing this logo, shown below. After thinking about what we could potentially call our production company, I decided that the prop of the 'company logo' for 'Pro-Tech' may be of use. As the company logo my partner and I created isn't used much in the trailer, and it is a very prominent image, I felt it would work well as our production company logo. Using the 'eye' image we decided to call our company 'ICU Films' we felt this worked well with the image and both collaboratively worked to create a lasting image in the audiences mind. The logo shown below is the final logo I created for our production company.
